Scottish Building Standards Agency - Building Warrants in Scotland

AEF Electrical is registered as an Approved Body under the Scheme for Certification of Construction (Electrical Installations to BS 7671). This means we can self certify all of our own work and sign it off with building control. All works carried out will be supplied with a BS 7671 Electrical Installation Certificate and a Building Warrant Applicant Completion Certificate.

On 1st May 2005 new building regulations came into force in Scotland, with more stringent rules for electrical work carried out as part of works covered by a building warrant. Under the new Scottish Building Regulations, work to electrical installations in domestic and non-domestic situations requiring a building warrant should now be completed by an Electrical Approved Body and Approved Certifier.

AEF Electrical is appointed as an Approved Body and Approved Certifiers of Construction (Electrical Installations to BS7671) under the Building Warrant Scheme. All work undertaken is to the current building standards and certified accordingly. This ensures that the process of obtaining a building warrant from your local authority is much simpler, less time consuming and more cost effective.
