Inspection, Testing & Certification Edinburgh

Every electrical installation deteriorates with use and age. It is important to be sure that the safety of users is not put at risk, and that the installation continues to be in a safe and serviceable condition. The best way to achieve this is to carry out an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) also known as a Periodic Inspection Report (PIR).

An EICR or PIR will reveal if electrical circuits are being overloaded, find potential hazards within the electrical installation, identify defective DIY work, highlight any lack of earth or earth bonding, and stress test the fixed wiring of the installation. It also includes checking fuse or circuit breaker ratings and testing the RCD's to make sure they trip under fault conditions.

The outcome from the Inspection Report will establish the overall condition of the electrical installation and confirm whether it is satisfactory for continued use. It will also detail any remedial works that might be required to bring the installation up to acceptable or current standards. We will discuss the findings of the report with you in detail, explaining every observation noted, to ensure you are fully informed every step of the way.
